If your phone system works – why would you change it?
The simple answer is – cost and functionality.
Subject to having decent broadband and choosing your supplier wisely there is no real reason that a company of any size wouldn’t benefit from all of the advantages that hosted VoIP can offer. Note though that that is “hosted” VoIP and not on-premise.
Hosted VoIP costs about £10 per month per user and with no minimum contract, “Remember what I said about choosing your supplier carefully?” you just pay for the lines you need when you need them. If your business is seasonal or growing this can be a huge advantage.
It’s nice to be able to save money on your phone bills, and lots of companies save more than 50%, but functionality is where hosted VoIP really wins. Every user get corporate switchboard capabilities as standard, “Remember, you need to choose your supplier carefully!” so that you aren’t faced with a pile of “extras”! So if you think, “Can I?” then you probably can.
